General Job Description: The Summer Vice President’s chief responsibility is to assist the President to ensure that Summer Board functions smoothly, and to promote the general welfare of the corporation. Also see the BSC Executive Job Description.

Board and Committee Responsibilities

1. Ensure that summer operations comply with existing BSC policies.
2. Attend SafeCom meetings and report to Cabinet or the Board any problems observed within the domain of workplace safety.
3. Ensure that the BSC has policies and procedures that promote the successful delivery of program services to houses and members.
4. Report to the Board of Directors when procedural errors are believed to have occurred in any adjudication proceedings, and ensure that the Board of Directors determines whether or not a procedural error has indeed occurred.
5. Report as needed to the Board on the status of the budget (including cost overruns) & potential budget changes.
6. Ensure Board oversight and direction on DAPs, BAPs, and HLBAPs.
7. Ensure Board oversight of energy efficiency programs and planning.
8. Report to the Board, Cabinet, and other Committees as needed regarding the implementation and enforcement of all Board policies and directives related to physical plant / IT infrastructure.
9. Attend all meetings of ITCom.
10. Serve on ad hoc committees as required by Board or BSC policy.

1. Supervise the AdCom Chair
2. Supervise theITCom Chair,
3. Supervise the Sustainability Coordinator
4. Supervise the Network Manager Coordinator
5. Chair Termination Appeals Committee
6. Chair the Personel Appeals Committee

Other Responsibilities

1. Sign documents on behalf of the BSC if the President is not available.
2. Attend quarterly IMC meetings and act as the treasurer of the organization.

Compensation: Stipend equal to 15 hours per week at the workshift rate.
