The principal responsibilities of the VPIA are to monitor the status of and facilitate Board direction and oversight of policies and procedures related to all BSC professional, member, and workshift staff, central-level operations, and BSC program delivery. The VPIA is responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of the Internal Affairs Committee. The VPIA also chairs the Presidential Review Committee (Policy Directory section I.D.10), Personnel Appeals Committee (Policy Directory section I.B.12), and may be directed by Board to serve on additional task forces and committees. The VPIA will educate the Board about issues pertaining to their area of work as needed throughout their term and their committee about recent organizational priorities addressed by their predecessor(s). In conjunction with the Board Administrative Assistant, the VPIA shall supervise the IACom Administrative Assistant. The VPIA shall sign documents on behalf of the BSC if the President is not available. The VPIA shall work with their successor to ensure a smooth transition of duties and responsibilities. Additionally, the VPIA is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the BSC President when they are unable to do so. The VPIA must also call elections to fill a vacancy in the Presidency if needed. The Board shall temporarily compensate the VPIA at 100% of the room and board rate under these circumstances.
