The VPEA principal responsibilities are to engage with and represent the BSC’s interests to external stakeholders. The VPEA shall meet regularly with student leaders and staff members in determining BSC marketing needs, direction, and relations. The VPEA shall be proactive in engaging with the press, city officials, university officials, students, student associations, the greater cooperative
landscape, and the community at large. The VPEA shall be responsible for distributing election information and general voter registration information to all members. The VPEA shall facilitate bipartisan election open forums in alignment with local election cycles and in the event of special elections, the purpose of the forum is to mobilize co-opers to get out the vote; these forums will not result in a BSC endorsement of a candidate. The VPEA shall attend University, City, and outside agencies meetings and events as necessary. The VPEA shall review and evaluate the BSC's image and perception external stakeholders. They will also assess the BSC’s role in supporting large cooperative movements. In addition, they shall oversee the recruitment efforts to reach historically marginalized groups and take into consideration the demographics of the BSC. The VPEA will educate the Board about issues pertaining to their area of work as needed throughout their term and oversee the work of any Board Representatives assigned to assist them. The VPEA may be directed by Board to serve on additional task forces and committees. The VPEA shall work with their successor to ensure a smooth transition of duties and responsibilities. The principal responsibilities of the Vice President of Education & Training (VPET) are to monitor the status of and facilitate
Board direction and oversight of the policies and directives governing all aspects of the member education of the BSC.
Accordingly, the VPET is responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of the Education and Training Committee
(ETCom), whose work it is to undertake the review and revision of BSC policies, directives and programs related to member
education and training. In addition the VPET may be directed by the Board to serve on ad-hoc committees. Also see the BSC
